President, Robert J. Achermann, JD – A well-known and respected advocate, Bob has worked in government relations and association management for nearly 40 years. A founding partner of Advocacy and Management Group, under his guidance, AMG continues to grow in its breadth and expertise. From Washington, DC to Sacramento, he has represented a variety of trade, industry and professional associations as well as individual corporations. He has extensive legislative experience, working with elected officials, state and federal agencies, and private industry, tackling difficult policy issues in the areas of healthcare, occupational licensing and regulation, business taxes and regulation. Bob assists our clients in navigating the state budget process and other state government funding issues. He has also led numerous association clients and provides them with unmatched executive expertise and guidance. Bob received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from California State University, Sacramento, and his Juris Doctor from the McGeorge School of Law. He is a member of the California Bar Association.
Vice President, Client Relations, Kim Andosca – Kim is a results-oriented team leader with substantial experience in operations management, membership marketing, project management and publishing. She has more than 30 years’ professional experience in senior nonprofit management positions, both statewide and nationally. Among her leadership accomplishments, she is experienced in nonprofit financial analysis and budget preparation. She continually manages the critical organizational and strategic components of many project management assignments and administrative challenges facing her client associations. Kim’s longevity in the nonprofit arena has permitted her to develop a true understanding of every aspect of nonprofit work. She is a recognized authority and qualified expert in nonprofit organization development and management. Kim is a member of the California Society of Association Executives and the American Society of Association Executives.
Vice President, Operations, Gloria Peterson – Gloria’s association management career spans two decades. She has managed all aspects of client association relations and has extensive executive leadership and operational experience. She has managed a variety of associations including 501c6 and 501c3 organizations. Gloria provides executive leadership, acts as liaison with outside resources, manages professional alliances and oversees project management with an emphasis on communications, social media campaigns, print publications, website redesign, professional development projects, and membership development. She also has experience in working with government agencies for healthcare reimbursement, licensing and California sales tax issues. She is a member of the California Society of Association Executives and the American Society of Association Executives.
Vice President, Dave Butler – Dave joined AMG in July 2015 as a Vice President. He previously served nine years as CEO of Sacramento Metro Chamber-affiliated NextEd, a not-for-profit organization that works to develop employer education partnerships serving the six-county Sacramento region. Prior to NextEd, he served as the Sacramento Metro Chamber’s Senior Vice President for Public Policy and Advocacy and as legislative staff for State Senators Tim Leslie and Cathie Wright. He currently serves on the Rocklin City Council, to which he was elected in November 2012. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UCLA in 1983.
Senior Advisor, Jackie A. Miller – A founding partner of AMG, Jackie now serves as its Senior Advisor. She has more than 30 years’ experience in government relations, legislative advocacy, and association management. She has represented clients before the Legislature, Governor’s Office, Department of Managed Health Care, Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board, Department of Health Care Services, Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Automotive Repair, Professional Fiduciaries Bureau, Health and Human Services Agency, California Health Benefits Exchange, and Business, Transportation and Housing Agency, among others. Prior to AMG, she was an association executive and legislative advocate for a statewide medical association and provided contract management services for a national osteopathic medical organization. She has also served in the State of California’s Department of Finance. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of California State University, Sacramento, Jackie majored in Government and minored in Communications Studies.
Accounting and Human Resources Manager, Nito Goolan – Nito performs all HR and payroll functions and is one of the accounting mangers at AMG. She has over 15 years of experience in trust account and non-profit accounting and more than 25 years of accounting experience. She has functioned in the capacity of Vice President of Finance and Controller managing a staff of 14 and multiple branch locations throughout the State of California and Arizona.
Accounting Manager, Robert Diaz, MBA
Robert joined AMG in August of 2016 and brings over 15 years of accounting experience from various organizations. He is responsible for maintaining all of our clients’ accounting records, financial statements and annual budgets while preparing quarterly reports for board of directors meetings. After serving in the US Marine Corps, Robert graduated from Fresno State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and subsequently received his MBA at Sacramento State University.
Senior Account Executive, Sheryl LaFlamme — Sheryl brings more than 15 years of experience managing people, projects and resources for a variety of industries. Prior to joining AMG, Sheryl directed a team of over 200 employees in 20 locations as the Northern California Regional Operations Manager for the Safeway E-Commerce Division. Her current role of managing AMG’s largest client encompasses a range of responsibilities including operations, communications and strategic planning. Her ability to develop and implement new board policies and strategies ensures successful outcomes for both the client and the team.
Deputy Executive Director, Matthew Peralta – Matthew first joined AMG in 2015, and now serves as the Deputy Executive Director for three of AMG’s clients. He is responsible for assisting the executive directors in ensuring that our clients’ strategic goals are met in accordance with the vision of the volunteer leadership, driving membership development and retention, developing government advocacy plans, and overseeing the day-to-day management of support staff. Before joining AMG, he worked in the California Legislature as a Communications Consultant, specializing in writing and media relations. Matthew graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2012.
Manager, Communications, Publications and IT, Ryan King – A staff member since 2011, Ryan is AMG’s on-site IT manager. He brings knowledge developed over 13 years working in IT support. His expertise spans the computer, nonprofit and retail industries, allowing him to quickly identify and solve our clients’ complex technical problems. Ryan also works to ensure that clients’ membership, financial, and other data are stored securely both on- and off-site.
Creative Writer and Publications Manager, Katelyn Hicks – Kate joined AMG in May of 2016 and serves as the Creative Writer and Publications Manager. She is responsible for writing press releases, op-eds, talking points, and fact sheets, while managing and editing our clients’ publications. Before joining AMG, she worked in the California Legislature as a Communications Consultant, specializing in writing and developing strategic messaging for policy proposals. Kate graduated from Sacramento State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations.
Meeting and Events Manager, Rachel Hickerson – Rachel joined AMG with over 12 years of association conference and meeting management experience, working with the California Cattlemen’s Association and California Veterinary Medical Association. Earlier in her career she also held the position of Executive Director of the Shasta County Farm Bureau. Her areas of focus revolve around overall execution of meetings and conferences, contract negotiation, tradeshow management, and speaker and sponsor procurement. Ms. Hickerson also spent over six years as a Convention Services Manager at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento, where she was responsible for the overall management of several of the hotel’s largest and most high-profile organizations and guests.
Meeting Manager and Continuing Education Coordinator, Lauren Stoddard – A staff member since 2012, Lauren is the meeting manager and continuing medical education coordinator for four of AMG’s healthcare industry clients. Over the past few years, Lauren has served as meeting manager and Interim Executive Director for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, District IX (CA). Coordinating the many details of large educational events – intrastate, interstate, and in Mexico – has been Lauren’s area of expertise.
Events and Exposition Manager, Stacey Siqueiros – Stacey joined AMG with over 10 years of experience in meeting, conference and exposition planning. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Pepperdine University and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University. She is a board member of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals and earned the Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) designation.
Meeting & Events Manager, Becky McGuire – Becky joined AMG with over 30 years of experience and knowledge in the meetings management industry. The past ten years she spent planning conventions for up to 3,500 attendees and managing over 250 workshops. Becky served as chair-person for countless high-profile industry events, culminating in her award of Meeting Professionals International Sacramento Sierra Nevada 2010-2011 Chapter Leader Award, of the 2001 Supplier of the Year for the California Society of Association of Executives.
Operations Manager, Scott Keyport – Scott joined AMG in 2016, bringing with him nearly ten years of experience working for various associations and member-driven organizations. He previously served as Operations Manager for the North Bay Schools Insurance Authority, and Administrative and Technology Director for the California Special Districts Association. At AMG, he serves as the Operations Manager supervising the membership services staff and assisting with AMG operational needs. Scott has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Regis University, and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification.
Membership Services, Melody Correia – A staff member since 2009, Melody is the on-site software support for our association management software (AMS) system. She is expertly trained in our data systems and assists all staff with reporting, facilitating special programming needs, accounting and database questions, and training. She also manages special AMS-related projects. Her years with AMG have afforded her experience with several clients, allowing her the ability to facilitate efficient procedural development.
Membership Services, Ellyse Dill – A staff member since 2011, Ellyse brings business management and marketing as well as customer service skills to AMG. She is responsible for all membership activities and support of one of our fastest-growing clients and provides technical assistance for several others. Ellyse obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento.
Membership Services, Mary Putterman – Mary joined AMG with 12 years of experience in administrative management and bookkeeping, as well as a year working with a San Francisco-based political financial management and compliance-reporting firm. She served as AMG’s senior executive assistant for three years, and now serves as the membership coordinator for three of AMG’s clients. Mary obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
Membership Services, Evan Wise – Evan joined AMG in March of 2017 and brings over 15 years of customer service and employee management skills along with him. He is responsible for all membership activities, projects, and support for some of AMG’s clients. Evan graduated from Sacramento State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Studies and American Sign Language.
Executive Assistant, Amenda Yang – Amenda Yang joined AMG in April 2017 and brings over 13 years of administrative experience working for various member associations. She has extensive experience with all administrative tasks, including scheduling, correspondence, and personalized administrative support to senior management and several board of directors. At AMG, she is responsible for providing administrative support to senior managers, event management staff, and managing all office supplies. Amenda has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from California State University, Sacramento.
